Since I've called my blog 'Under the bridge' I've found myself heading under bridges to take photos. This is under Garret Hostel Bridge which was designed by a young undergraduate of Jesus College called Timothy Guy Morgan. He won a competition but died in 1960 before the bridge was completed - there's a commemoration plaque on the side of Trinity Hall which is where these young workmen have been busy. The bridge is elegant but it's really hard to cycle over - you have to get some speed up which can be a challenge when photographers with dogs are in your way. Clare College bridge is in the distance. The focus is a bit off - I got the wall of the bridge unfortunately - but the goslings are cute!
So much in this shot...the punter with flowery shorts , boys sitting on the wall, a bit of boat & the lovely ducks all framed by those different coloured trees !!
One could create a book of stories from this picture. Oh, to be young enough to sit on that wall and dangle your legs. So many colors. Thanks also for your commentary.
Lovely! While I never got down under that particular bridge when I visited Cambridge a long time ago, I did go over it. Maybe one day I'll get back there to explore once more...
