A left over from yesterday - this door is actually at the end of a garden in Newnham. I don't think I'd put my number on the back way in to my garden for fear of assisting burglars but everybody seems to have done it.
Love the distressed look!

Oh the poor old door it's crying out for some care & attention , so dry & neglected!!! Lovely textures though & I love the washed out look. I wonder why you would put your door number on the back, perhaps it's the staff entrance!

This was very common in some of the older built-up areas, mostly terraced houses with no side entry, to allow coal to be delivered and dustbins to be emptied without carrying them through the house.

I love the crackle. It's so effective in B&W. Very cool shot xx

@wordpixman Well that would make sense - terraced houses and the backs are on a reasonable-sized road with better access than the front. @happypat

I would probably not do that either but it does make sense from what @wordpixman said. Very cool textures in this.

Great textures Judith. The B&W brings out the detail in the wood and cracked paint so well.

Fascinating depth to these textures. Love the monochrome. My number here http://365project.org/meisen325/3650. Not nearly as good, naturally.
