Rose by judithg

Rose

I have been totally useless at taking photos the last few days. It's windy, it's drab, it doesn't seem to be properly autumn.... But Adam showed me some double exposure things he's planning on doing (the ones he showed me were 'in camera' - he says my camera can do it but that would require me finding two things of worth to photograph!) and I thought I'd go through some of my old photos and see what I could do. The girl was taken at the 365 meet up and the roses are on a gate that I pass when walking the dog. Done in PicMonkey - photoshop would give me a lot more options but I've got to go and bake a cake and it takes me hours doing anything in PS. Not sure if it's just ridiculous but it's prettier than the baseball cap she was wearing! Anyway I just want to say a huge thank you for recent comments and for bearing with me while I've been having a bit of a break - normal service will resume shortly.
Three GT:
1. A good night's sleep.
2. A new baby safely delivered to the karate community.
3. Nigel approves of a new dress I bought (despite the price!)
I like it Judith - I don't think it's perfect yet, but it has some excellent elements to commend it, starting with what are two good images which combine to say something else even more powerful. And this is not meant to be damning with faint praise - it's intended as encouragement to push something a bit risky even further!

@exidia Yes - there are somethings that are annoying me - having to delete 100% of an overlay is a bit limiting - maybe I will do a compare and contrast PS to see what I can do with that!

This is absolutely wonderful! Instant fav for me. So much better than a baseball cap ;). Congratulations to the karate mother. And to you for a pretty new dress ;)).

Very Carmen Miranda! I've always fancied trying double exposure but, as you say, it's a question of finding things that will combine well. I like this, though perhaps too many roses in the left?

A new idea for a wedding headpiece maybe? I love the tones and the way you've put them together.

How wonderful to have a son who shows you good things to do with editing....the roses are in perfect keeping with this girls rather serine & aloof face plus they suit her much more than a base ball cap" The shades of pinky sepia go beautifully & think the tones make this photo!

A beautiful and creative shot.

The two images fit together perfectly. I need to learn how to do this.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I do like the more tightly cropped one better

I like the tones and the softness and looseness of this shot more in some ways than the other. However the other shot is more defined and composed and equally lovely in a different way.

I've just looked at both, and I prefer the closer crop of the PS one, but I prefer the dreaminess of this one! I wonder how you do this in Picmonkey, I'll have to have a look when I've got a mo.
