Just for @catwoman2 ! I took lots of pics of 6 babies on another lake but they were in and out of the reeds and the strong reflection reeked havoc with my camera. I have just cropped in a bit these are the original weird colours!
I thought a crocodile too.......is that where bald as a coot comes from....you have some very odd looking ducks down your way? Beautiful shimmery scene!
@judithg Thanks for posting the weirdest baby bird ever. It looks like a Dr Seuss creature come to life! I've seen adult coots but never imagined their offspring could be so strange.
@happypat my grandad lived on Coote Lane so don't pretend you don't have weirdness up north!! I hadn't realised till I looked at this quite how weird the adults are.
