Old Glory

"Old Glory" was the name given to the flag owned by William Driver - a sea captain. Many times after a trip his flag probably looked this this one and needed mending. Driver's flag survived the civil war by being sewn inside a quilt. It is now in the Smithsonian. So while this flag in my picture should be replaced - I learned how and why the nickname "Old Glory" came to be.
