Fruit Tea by julie

Fruit Tea

I bought this fruit tea and it is very good. Also I bought these new glass mugs which are fun to drink the tea out of.

I'm not real happy with my new camera so far. Either it's not that great, or I don't know how to use it yet. My pictures are turning out blurry or bad color. I've only had it two days though. I'm working on learning how to use it. I thought that if it had a 12.x optical zoom that it absolutly have better quality than mine which had 3x optical zoom. Is that true?
I don't know but I do like this photo! Look how clear the box colors came out! I am going to ask my step-daughter, Courtney, and have her check you out and maybe give you some answers. She is pretty good with the technical camera questions. I have a great camera and I get frustrated because I don't take the time to learn...I just want it to happen! Hang in there!

HI! Mary asked me to come take a peak at your question. I've been playing with photography obsessively for about 6 years. :-) A couple of tricks when learning a new camera is to make sure to press the shutter half way down before you push it all the way to take the picture, that will make sure it's in focus. Also, the more you zoom, the more likely there will be some camera shake, so the photos may be more blurry. Also, if you look at the LCD as you zoom, does the color of the number change? If so, the zooms are of different quality and the higher you go, the less quality the photo will be. I hope that helps or gives you something to play around with.

I hope you have fun playing around with your new camera. There's always the possibility that there's something wrong with it too. I looked up the info on your camera and it seems to get good reviews.

Have fun! Take care! :-)

@cfitzgerald Thanks for the advice, I will try that out! I'm reading the manual a little each day and trying new things.

@julie I didn't understand a word of what Courtney said...I am so not technical. I am considered relatively smart but I am NOT smarter than the average camera! Did you get it, Julie? Courtney is amazingly patient and kind so you can always ask her!

ha ha yeah I understand, but I don't see any colored #. I don't think mine has that. I only had it for three days, so I guess it will take time to figure it out. I just expected the pictures to be awesome I guess. :) But they probably will be after a while. And I thought a point and shoot camera would not be complicated but it is. I have to use my brain! I think I get lazy because I don't do much figuring things out so I guess it's good for me to learn something new.

@cfitzgerald I am seriously considering returning the camera. I just took it outside and took a bunch of pictures of the snow using alot of different settings. Then I took my old camera out and took some. They turned out so much better. I could see the individual snowflakes. I thought 12.5x optical zoom meant better closeups. Is that not true?

It's not always true. It could be a defect in the camera. A lot of zooms are better now than they were a few years ago, but if it switches over to a digital zoom, it won't be better quality than a 3x or 4.5x.

Plus, since it's not your first camera, there shouldn't be this big of a learning curve. I hope you can get it sorted soon!

How frustrating for you Julie. I hope it works out. I made the mistake that Courtney talked about years ago with my first digital. I didn't press the shutter down half way so most of my pictures were blurry. Good luck figuring it out .

Good luck with your camera--mines been lacking luster lately, but maybe it's just me
