night night by kali66
I looked out at the night sky last night then decided it was way too cold for my camera (well me really). I'm loving your night sky shots. I like how you have composed this too.

The house and trees are beautifully silhouetted against that sky.

wide angle lens will be very helpful too to get the milky way in the frame :)

I love that you capture these night shots. The view through window gives a cosy contrast to the great expanse of sky.

Your night shots are always so pleasing, but with this little lit house this is so charming!!!

you must have zero light pollution where you're at.

@kali66 so nice! Wish it was that way here. I moved to the edge of town (sort of) ...it abuts an 'indian reservation' and I really thought that maybe the light pollution would be less because the 'rez has hardly to no street lights, but, no, light pollution is unchanged in my sky. What is different is that my neighborhood is the first to receive a pile of dirt in the dust storms that we occasionally get (thanx to the 'rez which has a lot of open dirt fields. Here's a boring wikipedia page about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gila_River_Indian_Community

@kali66 oh, wow, I actually just read that page and I learned that the natives that live there have one of the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in the world, around 50%. What I have learned is that Native Americans never had sugar in their diet before 'the white man' arrived, which in turn means that today Natives don't possess the proper enzymes to break down sugar, so most all Natives are fat because they eat modern American diet (which has waaay too much sugar in it). Arizona is one of the few states with a large native population.

@blueberry1222 i have watched a few documentaries in recent times about the four corners people and the hopi and noticed the obesity, it is the same here with the polynesian people, not that the caucasians arent in those figures also but as you note, it is the high proportion of the population. really i see anything about the US and there are large people everywhere, looks similar when i study the people at our supermarket! the cheapest food is the worst often. you can get really cynical about it and say it is deliberate ...

@kali66 it's unfortunately becoming a worldwide phenomena.....it's more expensive to eat healthy.
