I got up before dawn again and was treated to a setting moon.
Here is a hatchet job done on one of Ted Hughes Poems, 'Us He Devours', severely paraphrased by me... probably sacrilege but i quite like what i came up with from his lines, apt.
I was looking at his poetry to find something to go with my image because Fay Godwin collaborated with him in a book where she illustrated poems with her photographs and in turn inspiried other poems. i really like that idea.
The breath off the water's face, the salt airs.
Calling to the eye of the mind
For whom the mouth is a wound.
The spiral nebulae that have turned
Into howlings and gnashings.
It finds nothing, or barely enough
Lovely photo and accompanying text. I'm sure Ted would approve. Haven't read his stuff in awhile. Will have to dive in again. Also thinking of Sylvia Plath.
Who couldn't have a good morning after seeing such a sight? I must read up a bit more about Fay Goodwin. We had a calendar of her photos many years ago and enjoyed them so much that we framed four of them and still have them on our walls.
