the sun came out! to celebrate i decided to try a lumen print with some very old photographic paper i have had in the cupboard for many moons. I didnt re-read the instructions though and it seemed to happen way too fast! i took photos of these before they dematerialised. and i am glad because fixer turned them yellow. i will study up and try again another day.
Wow, I found this on photo memorabilia.co.uk: "Kodak VELOX paper was a very slow printing paper, producing a blue-black image, suitable for contact printing only, where the negative is placed in contact with the paper to produce a print of the same size. Kodak discontinued the manufacture of Velox paper in 1968." Yours has a glossy surface and enhances contrast, perfect for off-camera pictures!
@domenicododaro very cool, i may try doing lumen prints of 120 negatives when i do some. I have a bunch of other papers too, i found them at the rubbish dump about 20 years ago when we used to be able to scavenge there, i wish i had picked up the photos that were scattered around with them , i also have a couple of developing trays, a tank and a glass stirrer. .
A friend of mine rescued from the damp a full photo album of an Italian officer documenting the fascist colonial war in Ethiopia. More than 800 photos and the sparkle of the novel we wrote thereafter. Really a pity that memories go wasted!
I used to have a dark room, I still have my enlarger and a lot of paper. Maybe one day I will play with it again. I used to love it. That's a great effect you achieved.
