get-pushed black on black
photoshop alert,!
not sure of the etiquette for these shots but i faffed majorly, composite of 3, reflection removal, black and white conversion .
. studio setups are really not my thing.
Thanks for your challenge Kali. Mine to you this week is the one you gave to Wendy last week - a faux infrared landscape. I have PSE 11 and have tried to do this without success. I got so annoyed with it am collecting infrared filter next week! It may of course not be particularly challenging to you, but it gave me a tough time ...
@fbailey haha good one, it is something i bookmarked long ago thinking i should try it but never got around to it so thankyou for the push.
i always thought a camera had to be modified to do infrared, what does the filter actually do?
@kali66 Glad you approve! The filter blocks all visible wavelengths of light (think you need to use longer exposures here too) and the resultant image shows in varying degrees of red. You still have to tweak quite a bit in Photoshop but hopefully Elements will cope with that rather than my not so clever attempts at downloading a Channel Mixer and playing with layers. Gavin Hoey has a couple of YouTube tutorials if you're interested.
@fbailey well good luck with it, my copy of photoshop has a channel mixer so i hope i can do it according to the tutorial i gave Wendy, i may have to play with older photos to practise if i cant get out to find a suitable subject during the week, but we shall see.
Oh - good! You are trying IR!! so pleased and looking forward to the results!
I really enjoyed the challenge, and like IR so much that I will also be purchasing a filter.
This is a great shot, BTW and a FAV!
How did you get the steam? I never could get that.
@4rky tricky but i have seen some good results, made it trickier for myself with the shiny cup, matt objects would be easier, you need some black cloth and be able to control your light source
