A 'New World order' seems to be taking over. WE know what happened last time... maybe the manufacturer of those poles/legs(?) will be happy. I fear a 'hell in a handcart' scenario. The world that remains after we've gone will let out a sigh of relief, shake itself down and ask 'what was that all about?' Realistic pic that most of us can relate to!
Pen Pals. Those were the days when you would send a letter half way round the world and wait weeks for a reply. That’s if you ever got a reply of course, I’m the little boy that Santa Claus forgot, but not really:-).
Great street scene...and social commentary. I sat in the airport the other day watching the other people in the boarding area and it was about 15 to 1 for people staring at their phones vs. those not. I hate the things, yet I carry three. Yeah, go figure.
oh, that's normal and at least they're staying put. here in toronto, people cross the streets, walk up and down the stairs or stop in front of doorways and stairs without looking up. on the train going to and from work, i'd say 99% of people would be staring down on their mobile. and then of course there are the loud talkers, doing facetime or on fb messengers. the worst i've seen is a woman who was so self-absorbed she was videoing herself on the bus, sitting on a designated seat and ignoring the elderly person in front of her who could not balance himself even with his cane. i was quite far from them or i'd given up my seat, but someone had the same idea as me who was nearer the elderly person. that's why, i make it a point to give praise to a young person who gives up a seat even if i wasn't the recipient of the good deed. i wanted that young person to know that we old folks are still aware of what's happening.
Sometimes I feel it is tragic, but on the other hand, was it really that much different when I was younger. I almost always had a book or a newspaper in front of me, I still have, but now it is on a screen.
Im working hard on breaking my addiction. well, I need to work harder. My phone is to go in my bag on my back whilst I walk to work and back. It is good to concentrate on the walking and looking!
they might be uploading pics to 365:)
@helenhall good for you Helen, unfortunately the younger generations think its normal
