A 'New World order' seems to be taking over. WE know what happened last time... maybe the manufacturer of those poles/legs(?) will be happy. I fear a 'hell in a handcart' scenario. The world that remains after we've gone will let out a sigh of relief, shake itself down and ask 'what was that all about?' Realistic pic that most of us can relate to!

@yrhenwr indeed.

Isn't it crazy! Even crazier when you find yourself doing it too.

Pen Pals. Those were the days when you would send a letter half way round the world and wait weeks for a reply. That’s if you ever got a reply of course, I’m the little boy that Santa Claus forgot, but not really:-).

Great candid shot

During the last century, we sure wouldn't wast time on a screen if we had a nice young lady wearing shorts strolling around...

A cool candid

@kali66 Oh, how funny! Maybe they were having a little tiff... or texting to each other ;)
January 5th, 2019
They are both probably texting each other with "where are you? I'm waiting at the front of the store..."

I see this scene all the time. And people talk about feeling lonely in life! Thought-provoking snap you took here.

Great street scene...and social commentary. I sat in the airport the other day watching the other people in the boarding area and it was about 15 to 1 for people staring at their phones vs. those not. I hate the things, yet I carry three. Yeah, go figure.

oh, that's normal and at least they're staying put. here in toronto, people cross the streets, walk up and down the stairs or stop in front of doorways and stairs without looking up. on the train going to and from work, i'd say 99% of people would be staring down on their mobile. and then of course there are the loud talkers, doing facetime or on fb messengers. the worst i've seen is a woman who was so self-absorbed she was videoing herself on the bus, sitting on a designated seat and ignoring the elderly person in front of her who could not balance himself even with his cane. i was quite far from them or i'd given up my seat, but someone had the same idea as me who was nearer the elderly person. that's why, i make it a point to give praise to a young person who gives up a seat even if i wasn't the recipient of the good deed. i wanted that young person to know that we old folks are still aware of what's happening.

Sadly, Hell and a hand cart seem closer day by day .

Sometimes I feel it is tragic, but on the other hand, was it really that much different when I was younger. I almost always had a book or a newspaper in front of me, I still have, but now it is on a screen.

Probably texting each other as they sit inches away - great image but a little sad at same time

Im working hard on breaking my addiction. well, I need to work harder. My phone is to go in my bag on my back whilst I walk to work and back. It is good to concentrate on the walking and looking!
