@madeinnl glad you giggled at that as i did @annied the buzzeratzi @brigette trying to retrieve the mat under the hive used to check for varroa mites... unfortunately they are infested and we will have to treat them . shouldnt have been so gung-ho not wearing the veil
Looks painful, is it wrong to say the picture, maybe in a week will be worth it. Lots of photographs and artists spend time and money to get a picture this good.
Sorry to read about their infestation. Have you heard of Dave Goulson? His books on wild bumble and honey bees ( and other insects, but mainly bees) are fascinating reading and a tad worrying esp New Zealand's. Hope your hives stay safe
@30pics4jackiesdiamond thanks, i just watchd one of his talks . my garden is a wonderland for insects and i get really peed off when my neighbours all seem hellbent on killing anything that grows with roundup!!!
Ouch! And oh dear! Hope all is well now. No need to worry about that particular bee any more. Taking advantage of your own distress to get a shot suggests that you are serious about your photography! It gets you a fav too!
Hope you are better soon

great portrait, hope the swelling goes down soon!
The best thing about 365 is at least when something goes wrong, you can get a shot out of it. ;)
