I am so not inspired by this artist. But, looking at the link and browsing a bit, I decided I like your photo better than his paintings :|

His work resembles somehow the art of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who settled in NZ in the latter part of his life.

Well, McCahon's painting definitely has nothing to do with the architectural style of Hundertwasser. In Vienna, in the Hundertwasser Museum, while visiting the exhibition, you watch the paintings and then there's a door. And you can go inside. And it's a toilet. Right there in the exhibition. And it is decorated the same as that in Kawakawa in Julia's photo.
But I don't know, the way McCahon integrates writing in some of the paintings, it reminded me of the style of some of the Hundertwasser works.
