Kansas Bird by kareenking

Kansas Bird

The Western Meadowlark was designated the official state bird of Kansas in 1937. I captured this bird today while enjoying a little country drive. It may not seem all that spectacular, but you photographers must know how difficult it is to catch a small bird in flight with any clarity at all. So I'm proud of this one. :)
P.S. Apologies to my 365 friends for the inconsistency in my commenting. I've been really swamped of late. Also, I noticed that once I completed the first year, my drive to invest so much time in commenting has let up a bit. Life is short and there just doesn't seem to be enough time for everything!
Great capture on the wing. Lovely shot.

amazing - I do indeed know how hard it is to get a shot like this. I almost never succeed!
