Salvaged this photo from the archives of my mom's house as she prepares for an auction. When I exclaimed over this picture, she said she didn't like it. My mom has repeatedly expressed how her parents never told her she was pretty.
Well, I think she looks like a blonde version of Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz."
She's adorable. I've heard one school of thought that said, "Don't tell my daughter she's pretty" because they don't want them growing up to think looks are everything. But, they don't have any self confidence if they don't here it at least sometimes.
