Jeff Hanson - The Guy Who Put Muscotah, KS On the Map
One more shot from the day of the Great Eclipse. Though I didn't get to see what I wanted to see, I did get to see something else amazing and in the shape of the moon! Jeff Hanson is the brainchild behind the World's Greatest Baseball! Why? Because Muscotah, a town of less than 180 people needed some revitalization. It also happens to be the birthplace of Joe Tinker, shortstop for the Chicago Cubs and part of the famous "Tinker to Evers to Chance" - the trio whose double-play helped win the World Series in 1908 against the New York Giants. Hanson thought it would be cool to re-purpose and old round water tower from Atchison, KS and turn it into a giant baseball. Once his vision spread and people backed him up, his dream was realized. I love serendipity!
