My neighbourhood quail family heard me watering the garden and hopped up on the fence as soon as I went inside. Unfortunately I had to shoot this through panes of window so I wouldn't disturb them. You can see the two parents - larger and darker colouring. The fledglings are smaller, dull coloured and only a tiny little top knot. :) Love them!
