I didn't expect to come face to face with sun conures in my outing this morning, but it ended up being one of my favorite zoo encounters (along with the red pandas and otters). These little things were so funny, smart, endearing - it was pure joy being around them, having the kids feed them small pieces of fruit, and being enchanted by their little personalities.
The lighting is a bit off as the roof had a green hue to it - tried to play around but short of going to b&w, I wasn't making it happen (and I couldn't take their colors away!)...
Sunnies are such silly little characters :) Lovely shot of them hanging out!
The one on the left reminds me of Phoenix, and the middle one could be Magic :)
@kali66 :) the one with the tilted head is such a little clown! @graemestevens thank you sir Graeme! @ltodd oh I didn't realize you did! I'm ashamed to say I have very basic skills with post processing and I use Photofiltre... One day I will graduate to PS / Lightroom and learn how to use it!
Hi Caroline - I was going to see if I could work out how to correct the colour with you - but looking at Photofiltre I see curves and whitebalance corrections are only available in PhotoFiltre Studio X version. Do you see a Levels or Channel correction tab anywhere?
I have made some corrections (posted http://365project.org/ltodd/extras/2013-08-24) and wonder if you would let me use the image as the start image for a Sandbox tutorial on whitebalance?
Oh wait a sec,, I think there is a plug in on http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/plugins/plugins-en.htm for white balance - if you are interested & can instal it ( or get help doing so, I can assist with making it fix problems like this)
1, Plug-in installation - Unzip the file's content in the PhotoFiltre's Plugins folder. Then restart PhotoFiltre to load the plug-in.

2, (easier method ) click on the link at the bottom of the page for the ---
PhotoFiltre Plugins Pack III
ther seem to be 2 white balance correction plug ins available - either one should improve your starting image
@ltodd Oh Lyn thank you so much!! I actually did an adjustment on my regular Photofiltre (without the plugin) and the levels worked - I wish I could repost this photo!! I appreciate the great tip! :)
with your ace account you can go to PicMonkey ( under Photo Details on the righ on this screen) then -- Colours -- then neutral picker. Click around on a few white areas & it should improve. Save & export back & it will replace what you have here & be almost the same 'quality but better colours.
Are you OK if I use your original version in a 365 discussion tutorial? Not to point out your mistake ( there wasn't one anyway) but to show people the difference & how different software works differently??
Phoenix is the serious one, but she often looks closely at something on one side. Magic is the silly one - but she's good at pretending to be serious to lull everyone into a false sense of security. They're both very smart!
