Abraham Lincoln's great grandfather John Lincoln purchased land near Linville Creek in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in 1768. The pictured cemetery contains five generations of Lincoln family, including that of Abraham Lincoln's great grandparents, "Virginia John" Lincoln and Rebecca Flowers Liincoln. It is from this farmstead that Abraham Lincoln's grandparents, Abraham and Bathsheba, left to settle in Kentucky.
