@andrina@cazann Thanks for your comments. It was probably named in the Northern Hemisphere, as it apparently starts blooming around Christmas time, through January (obviously opposite in the Southern Hemisphere where I am!).
@ssimon Yes it has, but it is about three inches off the ground right at the bottom of the plant, so I took some photos crawling around on the ground! They're not marvellous, but the plant has several other buds in better places, so I'll be trying some more pics over the next few days. Otherwise, I'll just post the one I've already done. It's more of a dark pink than red, very unusual colour which doesn't really show that well in the photo.
