@jools its always almost dry if not dry. I've seen it this full three times in the 25 years I've been living here but today was the worst as it went over the top after I took these shots.
@kjarn - fair enough. Is the backyard still flooded? What a shame you didn't get a pic of that as well as have an old one of the dry canal for comparison.
@jools the water went away as quickly as it came when the rain stopped but its pouring again now and they say it will be worse tomorrow so I may have the opportunity for another photo. You've given me an idea - I'll take one when the canal is empty again and make another collage.
@tabbycat the last time this happened my youngest was about 10 and she wanted to do just that although I couldn't predict a happy ending with tons of water flowing at about 100km an hour!
