2021 02 15 Felled Giant

On Friday I took a photograph of one of the tall gums in the Old Harbour. Today, Monday, I was horrified to see that one of the giants at the entrance to the harbour had been felled. Unfortunately I had to take this shot through the fence as members of the public were not allowed in during the felling process.

Now why on earth would they do that ?

WHY? Perhaps it was dying? I think I see the center not in very good shape. I understand if it is a safety issue! Great documentation of the moment
