Mr Sandman's latest offering is of the Big 5 animals of South Africa - elephant, lion, leopard, rhinoceros and buffalo. The rhino is mostly obscured by the leopard from this angle.
I chatted with Mr Sandman's assistant and found out that he creates something new every three or four days.
He certainly is very talented! Where does the sand come from? It’s not as stupid as it sounds because I don’t see where he got this much sand to build this. There are no dips or holes that I can see.
Wow! Must send this to my daughter who will love it all! I'm always in awe of an artist who will produce such remarkable work and leave it to the elements! Glad you managed to *save* this one!!!
This is amazing. We have a sand sculpture exhibition in Frankston every year in Australia and it is fabulous. Sand sculptors are so talented aren't they. Of course the exhibition has stopped since Covid.
@grammyn Good question, Katy!! I've never thought about it. Probably wet sand from closer to the sea and I guess those holes would fill up quickly with the movement of the waves. I'll investigate!
