The kids and I went out in search of puddles today. We found a bunch on the side of the road north of town. Luckily there's virtually no traffic in the area so Kennedy agreed to be my model. Here she is in the role of Mary Poppins. We took shot for probably 15 minutes. In that time, it was sunny, then poured so hard we had to get into the car, then the sun came out again. It was even windy for a few minutes and turned the umbrella inside out. Crazy weather! For a more serious pose, check out my extras album here: http://365project.org/kwind/extra-shots/2013-04-13
LOL! Such a fun image...love the extension of the umbrella with all it's bright colors against the clouds, the reflection of her boots and the creativeness of the entire image! I must ask...did you capture Mary Poppins in a SPLASH?
Haha -- she does look ready to take off! Lovely reflections, and pure happiness ... from the tip of her rainbow umbrella to the soles of her pretty pink boots!
@anazad511 She just jumped up and down many times holding the umbrella as I snapped in burst mode. This one had the effect I was going for. Thanks for the fav!
Muah, your shots are so fun. How do you make the floating feet effect?! I feel like everyone except me can do this, which makes me feel rather silly. :D
@violeta She just jumped up and down holding the umbrella above her as she did it. She did a bunch of different poses. She probably jumped 20 times and I shot in burst mode. Luck, more than skill created the loathing effect. In all but a couple of shots you could tell she was jumping up by the movement of her clothes.
Love the bright pop of color the umbrella provides in this! And is she jumping off that one tiny 'island" of ground? It seems like she is closer to use than that...jumping up from the puddle but yet puddle is super still so that cannot be. Very cool shot. Did you see that thread about "Vadaring" where you hold up one hand like Darth Vadar in STar Wars and the person in front of you jumps up and you take a pic, freezing the jump? It looks like you have raised the person up with your Darth Vadar choke hold magic. That reminds me of this pic...she is flying!
Saw it on the PP and really liked it. I know you took a bunch of shots but it looks very spontaneous. Really fun. Life is good when our kids happily play along with us.
@jesperani she probably jumped 20 times.
@filsie65 She jumped numerous times on the little "island" within the puddle. There wasn't a single splash.
