Beginning of Grade 10 by kwind

Beginning of Grade 10

I must document the start of my daughter's Grade 10 year. She started yesterday but directly from the pool to school so there was no photo op. I made her pose today.
Wonderful portrait!! Love all the fall colors in your yard! And, she does look a lot like you, doesn't she? Lovely young woman!

Great that you document these steps in life! I like the 'steps' going up and the patterns on the wall. She's beautiful, your daughter!

I would expect Grade 10 would be pretty senior? She looks happy about it.

Photos like this are so priceless as it's no time at all before they're done with school and off on their own. Both you and her will appreciate the time taken to capture this moment. (She looks happy to have complied.)

September 25th, 2014
What a great way to remember a special day
September 26th, 2014
What a lovely shot as a keeper! So cute! Love the seat and sculpture.
September 26th, 2014
Lovely shot... I make the kids hold up fingers for their grade. Once we got past 10th grade, I hung signs around their necks (much to their sincere delight). Your solution is much more elegant. :)
September 26th, 2014
@rosiekerr We've done fingers before too! I borrowed this old chalkboard from school so we've done it this way the last couple of years. I figured it would show the progression of their printing. I love your "hung signs around their necks" remark. It made me laugh. I can only imagine the comments and faces your children made in protest.
September 26th, 2014
She reminds me of my daughter. I haven't been so methodical, and she's already an 11th grader. Sigh.
September 28th, 2014
so how long is the "oh, mom" drawn out when you hand the kids the sign with the grade on it? And yes, some day they will enjoy the photos and have a good laugh over them, especially if they do, indeed, "oh mom" you :-)
