I told you it's important to look down every once in a while to find photo subjects... here's proof! I spotted this cool mosaic in Hollywood on the Sunset Strip and just had to snap a shot, since it mentioned my favourite toy, the camera!
On another note, one month today I fly to Italy! So very excited. I've got almost everything planned. Just need to finalize our 3 days in Rome. A question for those who have been to the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. I know one ticket gets me into all three places but I'm struggling with the order of our visit. There's so many conflicting suggestions online. We want to do the underground tour while at the Colossseum and need to book a specific time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Nice find. My follow up line would be .... and sold it on eBay for three times the price.
Can't help you with the order of your visits in Rome, but have a wonderful time.
Love this!! Have a great trip to Italy. It has been so many years since I have been there, so i can't really help you with your question. However I think the coliseum is lit up at night so it might be fun to do a night shoot if that is something you are interested in.
...found out it was a safety deposit box filled with jewels, unexpired unclaimed winning lottery tickets, and cash! WOOT! Thank the heavens for full-frame DSLRs!
What a cool find! Wish I could help with Italy, but it has been way too long since I visited. Have you tried getting some feedback on Facebook? This is going to be such an amazing trip!
can't help you for Roma, my family ans I are so disorganized that we didn't book anything (except the restaurants....hey we are French!), We just arrived everywhere to discover 2-3 hours lines so we paid double to cut all the lines and have a private guide...I think this solution isn't bad ! ;)
About the sentence : no idea!
Love the capture! I don't think it really matters which order you do them in.the important thing is to give time to each. There is so much to see and your camera will be busy. We finished our day bt heading to The Spanish Steps area where there were some excellent restaurants to choose from!
Went to Rome a couple of years back and adored it! From memory you will walk around Palatine Hill after the Colliseum and then down towards the Forum. That would seem to be the natural course but we didn't do the Colliseum tour as there was a long queue. We spent hours wandering around on Palatine Hill and then down to the Forum taking masses of photos!
I've been to Rome several years ago. There's so much to see in this magnificent city full of history. I cannot help you on the order of your visit because I forgot the sequence we went through. One thing you shouldn't miss is the Vatican and its museum.
Love Aaron and Annie D's suggestions. I'll put in "... and took this picture for you." It's great you included the tips of your shoes. Gives perspective and personalizes the photo.
We went on a day visit and the main sight like this were within a short walking distance from each other. The Vatican is definitely a must. If you go on line you can see a map which gives the main attractions which may help you to plan. I would go with the selling on eBay suggestion.
" and found a photo of Clint Eastwood on the SD card"...woudln't that be cool? Have a great trip to Italy...wonderful adventures and photo ops ahead. Very envious! This is a really fun shot "K"!!
Great funny cool mosaic . a great find and capture . You`ve got many answers but did one mention the nice colorful shoes ? Sorry I can`t help you about Rome. never been there. I won`t care . By that many you never can do it without forget some.
... and the rest is history! Not original but definitely what came to mind. I like the inclusion of your toes in this shot.
With regard to Rome I haven't been for over 30 years but I know someone who is a bit of an expert and may be able to help you. Laura @lauramalone82 would you be able to give Kim some advice on your favourite City? :)
@paulaw Certainly! I do LOVE Rome and I am going back myself in May. I wouldn't bother buying tickets until you get to the Colosseum, there are tour guides outside that do tours of the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. Usually they start in the Colosseum, break for a bit afterwards, and reconvene to take in the other two attractions. You will skip the queues also if you are part of a tour group. They run incredibly regularly so you will not be left waiting for long. Have a fabulous time!
If you have a specific tour in mind (I didn't do an underground tour), book an early slot and get the Colosseum done before the Forum and Palatine Hill xxx
don't know how to advice you on that but when you go to St. Peter's Basilica go to the very top if they still let tourists - the view is amazing & you can see rhe key formation where the Basilica is the head of the key + I enjoyed very much the diminishing stairs on the way up ( the last ones - you have to go round holding a rope)
Well, I did buy a camera in an antique shop and I put it on my book shelf (and it's still there!). Wish I could give you some advice about Rome, but I've only been to Greece and Israel when it comes to foreign travel. But it sounds like you've gotten some good advice from everyone else! Have a wonderful trip!
...with it I became a Famous Writer for Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone"... remember that story?
Rome...first trip with a tour guide...Coloseum morning & Vatican in the afternoon. Next trip we stayed a week, and went to the Vatican *very early in the morning*. You'll beat the crowds and have a marvelous photo op! I, personally, enjoyed The Forum most from above, but it's an awesome place to visit! Enjoy and be sure to send back photos!
...and travelled the world!
Isn't the world getting smaller by the day?! Sorry, I can't help as we went on an organised tour. We are also off to Europe in just over a month, very excited!
