Perhaps this is the last photo of Joshua with beautiful unscathed ears... :'(
I caught him in the morning with an ordinary cat transport box and commited him to the local shelter. What a betrayal of trust! I feel really bad.
But he seems to be uncastrated, and there was need to act. Please keep your fingers crossed that everything will work well! Thanks.
On Tuesday I can ask for him, and if he's well, I'll let him free again in his trusted territory. Sigh...will he ever allow me to stroke him again? I wish him all the best ♥ He's a good-hearted wild cat, even if he is a little aggressive sometimes.
PS: in most cases, the tip of one ear will be cropped if feral or semi-feral cats are neutered.
You should be proud Lastrami, you have done a very good thing, am sure Joshi will thank you and allow you to stroke him again. They do tend to become 'tamer'
He will be so much happier. I do hope he gets to come back home, and I'm certain he will be even friendlier, though carrier shy. I had an employee drop pregnant feral females in my yard years ago, and had to start a TNR program just to get the population under control. They are all so much healthier and happier now and even the wildest have calmed enough for the occasional head scratch or pat. None of them had the ear tip crop, though. Must not be common practice for a rural cat population.

Thank you so much ♥ I'm grateful for your wonderful comments, feeling a little better now. Tomorrow afternoon, I may call the shelter. And maybe I can pick him up and release him in the neighborhood.
