I went back to Red River Beach today to explore it further. My favorite photo was of this brown gull. I'm working on my shore bird identification this winter and this is a Herring Gull in it's first winter. The brown coloring will lighten over the next few winters and eventually this gull will become the classic gray and white. I think.
I like the subtle lighting effect of the sunset. Lived here my whole life and never knew the gulls took three years to turn to white and gray. Nice Shot and commentary.
He's much cuter with the brown. Maybe it's just because I've seen way too many of those pesky gray and white ones! I will have to say, you do make seagulls look pretty all the time.
