Bird of a Different Feather

I didn't have time to be a roving photographer today, so I spent some times hanging with my chickens. My granddaughter named this chicken Jasmine, but I secretly call her Chewbacca. My husband came up with the name, and it stuck.
Funny. What a strange chicken! Great shot

She looks like she's wearing a feather boa, and for some reason she strikes me as a Stella.

That made me laugh--I like Jasmine but um, Chewbacca seems to fit her, lol. This is a cool photo. I wish we could keep chickens in our neighborhood, I would do it in a heartbeat!

perfect name...hehe! she's a great subject with her coloring and pretty feathers and the background is perfect!
I am liking my nifty fifty, but I am having some issues with mine. I'm actually taking it back today. On two occasions it has locked up and the aperture numbers went to 0.0. I feel like it is sort of non-responsive when focusing. Do you notice that? Maybe mine is just a bad one. Do you have the 1.4 or 1.8? Mine is 1.8. I do like some of the results I've gotten with the lens and I think I am really going to love it for portrait shots.

@mainebrighteyes @hillcrest She's an Ameraucana, otherwise known as an Easter Egger, because she lays big beautiful pale green eggs.

Aw, she's gorgeous, like a movie star. :-) I'm hoping for more foxes this spring, so I can't get any chickens. :-)
