I'm not desperate enough to call the Samaritans, but I needed a change of scenery. I worked until 2 in the afternoon, packed a bag, put my little pup in her crate in the back seat and headed north to Vermont to visit my Mama. For those who aren't familiar with Cape Cod, there are only two bridges that cross the canal to allow access to the mainland. The Sagamore Bridge is currrently under construction, so traffic was horrible for this time of year, even though I was taking the Bourne Bridge.
This was my first driving photo, and it also makes me ask the eternal question of whether to post a better filler or a diary shot. Today, the diary shot won because I am still trying to track a year in my life as well as improve at photography.
i've been posting more and more diary shots, it seems, and even then they're usually a day or two behind ... ;-) looks like you had a great day for traveling! enjoy your visit!
So, Laurie - you've gone "off Cape", as you Cape people say! I've always gotten a chuckle about the "Desperate" signs, although I guess a few people in years past have been desperate enough to jump off the bridges. I go over the Sagamore to get to my brother's house, and the Bourne to get to Falmouth to head over to the Vineyard, so I know about the bridge traffic - never fun in nice weather!
I think it is an interesting sign and setting. Like the diary shot. So really what you mean to say is that you are taking a trip to America. Vis a v. Tasmanians say they are flying to Australia, and New Zealanders say that are east of the Big Island.
My Wife and her Mother visited Capr Cod last year, and they loved it. One of these yers we will take a trip up that way ourselves. The area sounds gorgeous.
