Milkweed Seeds

I love milkweed pods. In the past I have filled glass Christmas ornaments with these shimmering seeds that cast rainbow colors in certain light. I have also made Santa ornaments from the pods themselves. This image reminded me of happy childhood memories...

LH--the shimmer on the bottom wisps are so pretty! The milkweed is another favorite of the caterpillars! I am so obsessed with them! :-)

awesome shot. laurie. i like your idea about the christmas decorations. did you put some led lights in the glass container or was it the natural light that created the rainbows? last year i posted a pic of a bat our grandson made out of a milk weed pod casing - well, we made dozens of them ... lol. milkweed is great for so many reasons.
