Mums for a Mum, Intentional Blurr

This is my first attempt at the "Get Pushed Week 14" challenge. My partner Cheryl asked me to take a photo with intentional blurr. I've read about this, studied it, and just don't get it. Maybe it's because I've worn glasses almost my whole life and can't see without them, but I like things in focus.

I didn't do it correctly from a technical standpoint, so I will be trying again this week with all manual settings. Any advice would be helpful...
@cheribug First attempt...

I agree about the in focus. I have deleted my photos that were blurry. This does kind of look like an abstract. But it also makes me feel like I have the wrong glasses on. Love the colors.

I like it Laurie.. very psychedelic.. if you have a tripod try the circle shot.. I played with the shutter speed..

Well it is indeed blurry so I think you aced that challenge! Like the abstractness and the fact that you tried something new...

@cheribug I looked through months of your photos and loved them. You are a kindred spirit for sure. I plan to try the tripod and play with shutter speed. Thank you so much for giving me a challenge that is out of my comfort zone. This is how we grow and learn...

Cool.

This is just right, I think - not too much blur and you can see the original!

Fun and cool - nice one.

this is very blurry, great first attempt! x At photography school we used to take our tripod and go somewhere where there was a moving object, say cars on the road, and have stationary objects, say people standing very still, and open the shutter speed, and you would get really cool blurry backgrounds contrasting with sharp objects. Hope that makes sense you just have to make sure that the aperture is adjusted so that the scene is not totally overexposed xx

@jenrobcarr Thanks for explaining that, Jennifer! I'm going to give it a try later in the week. I had no car again today :(

I quite like it - though I am with you - as a glasses wearer you get sick of stuff not being in focus properly!!
