I've been putting off my get pushed challenge this week because I was waiting for some sunshine. Alicia (@tulipgirl) challenged me to arrange a collection of objects and shoot a still life, inside or out. This was much harder than I thought. Honestly, this one stymied me. Then today, under deadline I got busy.
Of all the photos I took of this collection of old books, antique bottles, a fountain pen and ink, I liked this one best because my dog nosed her way into it (after doing a great job squishing down the loveseat cushions). Still life is something I must keep working on apparently...
@tulipgirl You choose a great challenge for me, because I've had a really hard time with it. I'm pretty sure the dog ruins the still life idea, so I will post a second attempt in my second album.
so glad you posted this one - - really great light...and i love those bottles...i used to go diving for bottles at an old mill site here near Seattle...fun stuff. What i like in this shot is that your doggy is more interested in sniffing the little statue guy than he is the back end of the dog that is holding the books up! lmao
Laurie I absolutely love it! This is so wonderful and I agree with @snowy your little dog adds so much to it. She tones in so beautifully and she has perfectly positioned herself for your composition. It all works so well. I'm not sure that still lifes have to be still ;-) I'm so glad you enjoyed your challenge.
finally catching up with you!! Love this shot - what a little tinker!! love that look of curiosity - what are you doing? surely these don't normally live here? Hope you're well Laurie...of to catch up with your shots :o)
