flying into the storm - golden bosun bird (not very gold, this one though)
Sometimes birds flying above me look like they don't have a worry in the world. I'd like to be like that.
Tonight a colleague who is becoming a friend asked me how long have I been so guarded and asked how many layers there were. I didn't know how to answer but tears pricked at my eyes to think it was so obvious and that he'd seen. He then added that perhaps that is why I like seeing the world through the camera lens - a barrier up, but it may mean I missing out on things just out of my view.
I could think about all of this, or perhaps I could just imagine what it is like to be one of the graceful bosun birds swooping and playing the air for hours.
Great capture. I can't tell you what it is thar draws me to photography either. Well maybe it's capturing that perfect moment. Sometimes it's more than that.
Beautiful shot, I can totally feel the grace and majesty of the bird's flight. To be so lucky . . . :-)
Photography, like other arts, is incredibly rewarding for the self-discovery it affords. I find that it has helped me to break out of my shell of timidness and masking the more creative and experimental I become with it.
IMO, it's best to not overthink things to death--- every camera's just a box with a hole in it, so learn the controls and then just trust the lens, the most important one being your own eye . . . extract that as metaphorically as you wish :-D
@raebell@lotus1922@jenrobcarr thanks all appreciate your comments on my photo and my commentary.
Note to self, don't overshare in the middle of the night when tired and emotional. :-)
Awesome pic, I love the light on the back edge. It's fun to think of the birds flying, or the scene on either side of the camera lens, or maybe nothing at all. They all have their times.
Beautiful pic! I'm pretty guarded too, and I wouldn't have a clue how many layers are around me - it varies depending on who I'm with and how I feel at the time... I think I'll just dream of being a bosun bird for a while now too...
Perhaps your camera helps you see the things beyond your view, feeding your sense of adventure. Saving the ordinary for study later on. You are who you are, your friend will surely accept that.
Oh, beautiful picture, great lighting and dramatic poise. One of your best IMO.
Fabulous shot. The light and the slightly out of focus edges to the feathers are beautiful.
My eyes would have teared up too if someone said that to me. I used to be less guarded and I was teased for being too open and honest, now people have a hard time getting to know me and I'm thought of as aloof and a bit snotty. You can only be what you can be and try to be the best you that you know how. Don't let it get you too down.
