Castell Coch is a 19th century gothic revival castle built on the site of a 13th century fortification. From the outside it made me think of fairytale castles. The details on the walls and ceiling in this room were wonderful, the illustrations from nature could occupy me for many hours spotting all the different details.
This castle has been used for filming of a number of tv series and films including 2008 and 2010 episodes of Dr Who - I amy well track down those episodes in order to spot the castle.
I love visiting castles, ruins, abbeys and historical houses as well as museums and art galleries - ended up joining the National Trust and English Heritage n a joint membership with my host, figuring he could still use them when I had gone home again. So we were both enjoying photography and historically interesting sites. We both enjoyed being able to wander around with someone else taking dozens of photos of all sorts of things without anyone complaining about how log we were taking or asking "why are you taking a photo of that?" So nice to have shared interests and to have someone to share interests with.
Whilst I felt I was living a real life 'chick flick' I also realised I don't know how to have a relationship - it has been years since I started anything. To my surprise it was nothing like the rom coms I'd seen. he told me how he feels about me, he was happy when I spoke about things we could do together own the track and seemed happy for me to assume there was a future for us. Rom Coms always made me think these were no-no's that we are supposed to hide our feelings and not talk to long term lest we scare the guy off. This was nothing like that.
Ooh I love Castell Coch! Such gorgeous colours and decorations. I now feel that I have to watch all the Doctor Who eps too. I'm guessing Girl in the Fireplace could have been done there... not sure what else.
I guess rom-coms overdo everything.
