On days where I can motivate for myself to go out for a walk early before it gets hot (and when it is not raining) I walk along the water front and always get pleasure at seeing this wreck on the far side of the bay.
@lily I don't know if you can snorkel there - there are so many lovely coral beaches that I don't know that anyone has tried this wreck. Also locals caught a large crocodile near this spot two weeks ago.
@jenrobcarr - everything is so green and lush - it is lovely. I am hearing birds and then spending time trying to work out where they are and occasionally being able to get a fuzzy shot of them. I am beginning to be able to identified a few of the birds calls.
So you know I have seen the metallic starlings - I see them pretty much every day. I have seen a few olive backed sunbirds and they are lovely. I have heard and glimpsed some type of brightly coloured finches, a dark coloured heron, some parrots or lorikeets and I think I saw a palm cockatoo also. I often hear the Chauka bird (Manus Friarbird). So many of the birds spend their time up high in the tree canopy and hiding from me and my lens.
