Anti-Celebration

"The Grinch hated Christmas...the whole Christmas season" (Dr. Seuss) Today I'm with the Grinch, so instead of the tree, I posted its shadow...nothing new here...just tired of no family, no going out, no good news...and I'm giving up social media (but not here, of course ♥)
Great shadows! I know how you feel. It's rough enough. Freaking FB just depresses me or makes me mad and runs up my blood pressure, so haven't been there in since October. It's more soothing here - to look at some really awesome photos and have a few little chats with fellow 365ers. =)

Cool shadow shot. I know how you feel, Lin. I feel that way, too, sometimes, but hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel. hang in there.

Love your shadow. I agree with you. Social media i consider to be very anti social and disengaged from FB a couple of months ago except for for photo related groups and even then I an an observer rather than a participant.
December 11th, 2020
Beautiful shadows, I think re this awful situation we are all in the same boat and hope it ends soon.
December 11th, 2020
@marlboromaam That is so true - I'm planning on doing the same thing - avoiding FB and Instagram. I thought about cancelling both, but I want to keep all the photos, so I'll just commit to a boycott! And 365 is such a great place - I'll never leave it ♥
December 11th, 2020
@mittens Thanks, Marilyn. I think we are all in the same situation - some days are better than others!
December 11th, 2020
Nice photograph.
Giving up social media? I can only encourage you on this. There's life after social media. 365 is more than enough.
December 11th, 2020
@ludwigsdiana I have the same hope, Diana - Thanks for dropping by!
December 11th, 2020
@wakelys You definitely have the right idea, Susan. I'm not sure when it started for me, but FB changed from a place to visit friends into a battleground of friend against friend. Time for a long break!
December 11th, 2020
Great, like the way you vent your frustrations and have shared experiences with you, there are glimmers of hope, though, including vaccines
December 11th, 2020
Cool shadows! I’m with you on the rotten situation we’re in. Take care!
December 11th, 2020
To photograph a shadow you need an object, i.e. a Christmas tree. Great photo, but don't get into such a dark mood. I am a happy not owner of social accounts and I don't even have a TV. Thanks to this, I have more time to walk and admire the world.
December 11th, 2020
A terrific shadow shot! So much detail in spite of not a direct image!

I don't blame you for avoiding anything that doesn't make you happy!
December 11th, 2020
Great shadow capture, which has mirrored all our shadow side perfectly.
We are all in the same boat, and some days its harder than others. I too have stopped FB and YouTube

Bep
Difficult times for all of us. Take care and stay safe.
December 11th, 2020
Great "moody" shot lol. Yup, I am not into it either this year......at least not yet...but things will change!
December 11th, 2020
Great idea, a real Covid tree! I have to say I am missing "Hugs" from family and loved ones the most.
December 11th, 2020
Keep up your spirit Lin! Great shadow shot.
December 11th, 2020
@ricksnap Yes, the hope of vaccines and a new administration with stricter masks rule is a reason for celebration. Thanks for dropping by ♥
December 11th, 2020
@sunnygreenwood Thanks so much, Anne. You continue to stay safe, too.
December 11th, 2020
@haskar You are wise to avoid social media and news - I will follow your example this month! Thanks for stopping by.
December 11th, 2020
@grammyn Thanks, Katy! I'm going to try to concentrate on fun things instead of the news!
December 11th, 2020
@ninaganci Such a good idea, Nina - I going to avoid them also and concentrate on 365 (which makes me happy) Thanks for the visit.
December 11th, 2020
@gijsje Yes, some days are harder than others - you take care also and thanks for stopping by
December 11th, 2020
@dutchothotmailcom It will be a different celebration for everyone this year - hope you can enjoy it as much as possible! Thanks for dropping by today.
December 11th, 2020
@bubblequeen Yes, Melvina, me too. Hopefully next year will bring back the hugs! Thanks for visiting.
December 11th, 2020
@jacqbb Thanks so much - really appreciate the kind words!
December 11th, 2020
I hear ya.
December 11th, 2020
We just have to make the best of it. our Christmas Eve tradition comes to an end this season. we won't be with one part of our family incl. the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
December 11th, 2020
This too shall pass.
December 11th, 2020
Great shadow.
December 11th, 2020
Great shadow capture
December 11th, 2020
I love this photo. It’s ok to vent frustration. We’ve had it fairly easy here and still at times it’s been tough. You don’t sound like a grinch Lin. I think you’ve been very resilient and are so optimistic most days. Social media and news can be exhausting. Good to take breaks.
December 12th, 2020
I like your idea here, using the tree shadow to express your feelings. The holidays have been a struggle this year and Christmas will probably be the most difficult. It helps to hear others thoughts and know you are not alone.
December 12th, 2020
Love this shot! We don't have a problem with Covid in Australia but I'm not a fan of Christmas anyway. I just want it to be over
December 12th, 2020
I totally get it Lin! Hang in there! All will be better next year.

I didn't even bother to set up the tree yet - maybe later... maybe not... (our issue is that we have a visa now for our daughter, but she tested positive and could not fly. Fortunately she does not have any symptoms and we are waiting for the results of her next test...)

Social Media, especially Facebook can be evil. I have it, but at the moment only look once a week at photo related groups.
December 12th, 2020
A nice image to reflect on the difficult times we are in the midst of. However, this too will pass. It's hard to always be positive, but hang in there, everything will be ok.
December 12th, 2020
I favd this image yesterday but had to come 🔙 and tell you how I love the inky style like Japanese calligraphy
December 12th, 2020
@dustyloup Thanks so much! Really appreciate the visit and the fav!
December 12th, 2020
@jamibann Many thanks, Issi. You are right - some days are more positive than others!
December 12th, 2020
@ingrid01 Sorry to hear about your daughter - I'll be sending good thoughts and prayers that her next test is negative! Thanks for the words of encouragement.
December 12th, 2020
@kjarn Right there with you, Kathy. Thanks for stopping by
December 12th, 2020
@amyk Yes, it is really helpful to hear from others who are experiencing the same issues - one of the reason I love this community - thanks so much for stopping by
December 12th, 2020
This is a great Grinch image. I only get on Facebook once in a while, try to post things that are good to see.
December 12th, 2020
@carolinesdreams Thanks so much for the encouragement!
December 12th, 2020
@seattlite Thanks so much!
December 12th, 2020
@kwind Many thanks for the visit!
December 12th, 2020
@joansmor Yes, Joan - you're right! Thanks for stopping by.
December 12th, 2020
@bruni Yes, many traditions will be put on hold - thanks for stopping by - really appreciate it.
December 12th, 2020
@sailingmusic Yes, many of us are in the same boat, aren't we? Thanks for visiting.
December 12th, 2020
I’m a little late commenting, Lin... so I’m hoping your mood has lifted. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions this year and your shadow image has captured one of the lows perfectly. Let’s raise a glass to the highs that should return next year?
