I was happy to have time to take a picture of a sunset this evening. I’ve been dying to take a picture away from my house. I was even happier that my eighteen year old daughter, Katy, came along for the ride. She’s a senior in high school this year and is busy doing things high school girls do so we have less and less time together. Next year she’ll be going away to college so I have to take advantage of these fleeting moments when I can. Just her and me, talking and singing Glee songs together in the car. I’m reminded of the song from Fiddler on the Roof.
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
It’s awesome to watch her blossom into the beautiful, smart young woman I knew she would be, but it’s hard to see the chubby-cheeked little girl fade away.
absolutely beautiful sky! We are experiencing the same thing with our oldest son, it feels like I only see him once a week, and I agree, it is so nice to see them grow, but I wish I could keep him for just a little bit more. . .
