Yes, I admit it. I’m an environmentalist. That is why when I ordered a small package of glue sticks at the office and received them in an oversized box, I was really irritated. Wouldn’t it have been just as easy, if not easier, to stuff the sticks into a small padded envelope? Wouldn’t the Big Corporation incur some cost savings by investing in less expensive packaging and lower shipping costs? If every one of us did a little bit, it would amount to a lot. And it takes very little effort. Are you listening Big Corporation?
Ohh I hear ya! We ordered some Timberland boot laces once and they shipped them out in a box that was bigger than the original boot box! I wrote an email to the head office complaining, I find the wastage of big companies disgusting!
Maybe they get a good rate on having only one size box for everything that will fit in it. I am not sure I see how this is not environmentally friendly. A box is a box and if it is recycled then not sure it is bad for the environment. Now, if they had packed the box with those styrofoam peanuts to fill the empty space then I would have a major problem with it.
@rayswrld I understand your point, but unfortunately, recycling isn’t readily available around here nor is it the norm. I drag as much home as I can to throw in my recycling bin, but I have a limit to how much I can fit! I’ll give them credit for no peanuts!
