Buttons

This week’s object challenge is circles so I wandered around the house trying to think of things that might relate to the theme. I ran across this very old tin of buttons that belonged to my great aunt. The first time I opened it, I was intrigued by some of the odd little trinkets that weren’t buttons at all. There’s an Indian arrowhead, an FDR campaign button, a pin of some sort with two crossed rifles on it, pins, needles, a crochet hook, taylor’s chalk and thimbles. I think half the fun of old things is wondering about their journey and how they ended up in a tin of buttons.
Love the campaign button. The oldest one I have is a "I Like Ike" button.

@moncooga I love the campaign button, too. My dad’s side of the family is die hard Democrat and it looks like it goes way back!

@moncooga Okay, I’ll confess my mom’s side is Democrat, too. And yes, they’re all from Indiana! I don’t know how it happened, but here I am still holding my own in this Republican state.
