I planned to do a fireworks shot tonight, but I was thinking more along the lines of sparklers in the dark. Alas, time got away from my so I’m posting a photo of the fireworks we purchased tonight for our July 4th celebration. My favorite part about shopping for fireworks is reading the silly names they come up with for them. We have something called underwater fury, a fishbowl, some moonshine, moon travelers, sparkling palms, plus some killer bees and silver foxes. Most of the time they don’t live up to their names, but the anticipation and hope that we picked a winner is always part of the fun.
Here's a crazy situation. In PA. we can sell the fireworks, but PA residents are not allowed to purchase them (only the sparklers). In NJ (just a hop over the Delaware River for us), they can't sell fireworks, but they can buy them. So the NJ people come here to buy them, but it's illegal for them to set them off in NJ. You can't buy them in PA, but you can set them off. Well, it looks like you're going to have a blast (haha) setting all that stuff off. Just remember to stay in IN when you do. Looks like a fine layout for an advertisement!
In southeast Texas they have banned all fireworks and most shows, due to the extreme drought! We have had way too many fires already. Enjoy yourself and shoot some for us. :D
we just had an arson fire at a home today here in indiana set by fireworks... 12 different stories from 6 different people. it is the second house fire we have had lately with arson and fireworks. i have a hunch we will have a couple more the rate it is going. gotta love early july, makes for great job security. hehehe.
@olivetreeann To be honest I no longer even know what the laws are in Indiana. It used to be that anything that left the ground was illegal, but then you were allowed to buy anything as long as you signed a waiver saying you were taking them out of state. Now you just have to be eighteen and can buy whatever you want. I usually stick to fountains and small stuff. I'm intimidated by fireworks!
I've never thought about all the silly names for them!!!! haha! I'll have to look at that more closely. I can't wait to see more pictures of these fireworks.
Ahhh the joys of living in Indiana! Here in IL, we are only allowed the kiddie stuff: sparklers, poppers, snakes... fun for the little ones, but even my kids are getting a bit old. Your place will be much more fun! :)
