Season’s Greetings by lisabell

Season’s Greetings

The Christmas cards have been pouring in, and I’m feeling disappointed that I didn’t have time to make mine this year. In desperation yesterday I went to the store and bought the cards with pockets that you can slide your own photo into and sent some out to distant relatives. But I didn’t send cards to everyone that I usually do and the entire card wasn’t made by me. Oh well, there’s always next year.

I hate to end my year long project by fizzling out with my photos, but this time of year is so crazy with work and shopping and baking and wrapping and the list goes on. Maybe next week I’ll have time to make up for my less than stellar photos this week.
I spent money on kids in need this year and made a personal phone call to my friends and touched base with them. It was kind of cool but took two days to do it.

I know what you mean about fizzling out! I considered a similar photo for today- lots of cards arrived today! I love opening and seeing photos of cute kids and families! Are you continuing your project into the new year?

I love the collage of cards. And if there's one thing I'm learning as I get older is to cut myself some slack (and that's a hard thing for me to learn).

Great picture! I've received more this year as well. I was just feeling the same way that I didn't do this or that....so you are not alone. Maybe next year?

I took a few years off .. .life was just too hectic..it was a mini resolution to make sure i did them this year. . although it may be New Year's before they are received hee hee

You know, it's funny how the tradition of sending cards has dwindled down significantly

I was planning on shooting the cards I received today, too, Lisa... so don't feel bad! I bet everyone gets in a bit of a rut on some things this time of year...

You can only do what you can do. The pressure to go overboard at this time of you is often self inflicted. So relax- do what' most important and don't worry about the rest.

Nice card montage. Merry Christmas!

@lisjam1 I have not yet decided. If I do stay, I need to come up with an idea for what to photograph. I am a bit burned out at the moment, though I have enjoyed the process!

@eringoodman I’m considering doing it with less rigid rules. I might just try to post seven photos a week, but they don’t have to be taken on the day I post them. I have learned so much this year, and I know I have miles to go so doing it again will help. I’m going into another year with good intentions, but we’ll see!

I love the collage of cards you have received! I am so behind on all things Christmas this year! I sent out a batch of Christmas cards just today, and I didn't have time to make any either!

Just do what you can and dont' wear yourself out. It is the best gift you can give to the people who TRULY love you and the rest can....(fill in the blank with your best tell off!)
