A sizable box addressed to my daughter Katy showed up in today’s mail. We hadn’t ordered anything for her, and the name on box was a corporate name we didn’t recognize. We opened the box and found a ceramic soup bowl, spoon and a bag of potato soup mix along with a very soft small gray blanket/throw.
I looked up the corporate name that is painted on the side of the bowl, and it is a professional search engine optimization firm that helps business gain a bigger presence on the internet. Hmmm, my daughter’s a poor college student. The soup included is from www.soupofsuccess.com which helps women in need get back on their feet. So is this an advertisement? For the internet firm? For the charitable organization? We have no idea!
The big question now is “do we make and eat the soup?”. I vote yes because, come on folks, it has potatoes and bacon in it!! Everyone else voted it down, but I think I’m still going to try it. I might wait until after Christmas just in case. If i should suffer a painful death by poisoning, I don’t want to forever ruin the family’s Christmases.
Hahahaha, optimistic! I love organizations like these, when I was a police officer I saw some abused wives working on the "Bean Project" and how it improved their lives. It could be that one of her friends added her name or sent it. I got a free coffee mug and some tea samples from Gevalia because my friend gave them my address.
Well, I'd definitely use the adorable bowl, spoon and throw. (Nice that the organization chose to send a neutral color throw. We get the most God awful blankets/throws from the Humane Society as "thank you for your donations" gifts). Knowing that you like to cook I'm thinking you could make a much better potato soup than the packaged variety. But, should you choose to make it ~ bon appetit! :)
That charity sounds like it has a very worthy mission. I'll have to look into that one. My guess is they used the marketing outfit to get exposure for the cause. ??
cool way to advertise your business.
