Tonight I had a treat.
I attended a book launched by well known Australian Author - Hugh Lunn at the Logan Central Library .
He gave all of us who attended, a free book - "Working For Rupert".
I also purchased two of his other books.
I plan to keep - "The Great Fletch" & give Lynda the other - "Lost For Words"- he was kind enough to sign them for me.
He is a lovely person & had us in stitches at times.
He was also very emotional at times as he read out some of the numerous letters he receives thanking him for writing such wonderful books & how they effect them.
You can read about him at the site below.
He came from Annerley, in Brisbane the next suburb - to where I grew up at Tarragindi. http://www.qbd.com.au/author/Hugh_Lunn?show=all
He's such a lovely man. I've met him before a few years ago; but didn't have the money to purchase one of his books. I didn't know about the book launch at Logan Central last night.
As a librarian I have had the pleasure of meeting authors and I always get a great thrill hearing the stories they share. How great to have a photo to go with the books you bought.
