Old Survey Marker

We drove to Mt Gravatt Lookout the other day & while we were there, we notice this old survey marker.

It says "PERMANENT SURVEY MARK - PENALTY FOR INTERFERENCE ONE HUNDRED POUNDS"

Someone had removed the actual plate for scrap brass many years ago. Sad really, because it must have taken a lot of effort to remove it.
