My husband has used extension tubes, but they are very difficult to focus apparently. He found the only to get a sharp picture was with a tripod and hands free.
Neat concept, photographing the ends of cinnamon sticks. I've recently started using an EF12 and EF25 together on my 100mm macro lens. I found it only works on certain subjects to get that close and that a tripod is a must. I bought them with the idea of capturing insect images but I'm living in a dream world thinking the wind will ever cooperate and give me a still-enough day to allow a flower with a bug on it to stay still.
@judithg@lyndemc Thanks for your input on the extension tubes and macro shots. The Nikon 105mm is so heavy I was hoping for a lighter option but I fear it's not possible!!
