Mystery!

Last night's thunder and lightening show between 2-3am was spectacular! We've never heard such a noise!! These little spongey things popped up in our garden this morning! I tried to wash mud off by dripping a little water, but they fell flat immediately! Funny little orange things!

I've seen some bright yellow spongy things and some orange cylinder like fungi come up after a rain, but nothing like this. How unique. Great shot of them.

I've seen these myself, or at least something quite similar. The ones here look like carrots growing out of the ground tip first instead of the 'greens' end. Good photo you've got of your mystery fungus.
