This tapestry is hanging in a doctor's office that we visited today. It's beautiful but partially hanging behind a tv so I couldn't get a great photo of the whole piece. It's called Blooming Orchard after an oil painting by Piotr Grabowski. The wool was hand-dyed, hand spun and hand woven on an upright floor loom. The tapestry is one continuous piece.
It amazes me how people weave these tapestries, creating a picture one little space and color at a time. You created a unique abstract with the POV you chose.
Wonderful textures and cool DoF :) Having visited a tapestry workshop here I have a bit of an idea of how much work is involved - that one looks quite intricate.
