Another one of those shots that just made me laugh.
Missed a great shot today. I was walking back to the car when I heard a loud crash on the next path. When I looked over squirrels were racing for the trees and a large Red-Tail had crash landed, missing the squirrel he was hunting. Shook himself and took off. My best guess was close to 4' wingspan. The big guys don't miss very often. After all that he then suffered the indignity of being harassed by 5 crows.
@maryp Thanks Mary. A Red-Tail is a large hawk. Probably the most common hawk seen in the U.S. Full grown they stand about 2' tall with a wingspan between 3.5' - 4.5'. In the midwest they are commonly called Chickenhawks.
