We don't have Bundy drop bears, but the magpies are naaas-tee!
This is a diary shot from yesterday - most Australians have been emotionally or physically scarred by these critters at some stage. For six weeks a year, male magpies take on all comers. - cyclists look like aliens with zip tags flying from their helmets, motorcyclists wear rubber masks on backwards over their helmets, and little kids hide under their Mum's skirts when walking to school!
Here is a cyclists who rode past me yesterday, and a Council sign from outside the suburban shopping centre. (The council recommend painting 'eyes' on the top of children's school hats!!)
This sounds too wacky to believe ??? see http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2002/07/04/2588235.htm for some interesting facts about how they really recognise and, actually ----- target individuals ----- for years!
(my day was full of power cuts, dead phones, a dead PC at work, a painful dentists vist and generally s___ty; when life is subject to Murphy's Law, sometimes it's about just 'hanging in there' ! :D
What an interesting problem you have in Australia with these magpies. Thank you for sharing the link. Creative image...hope you get your power back and things in working order. Tomorrow's bound to be a better day!
